Description

A collection of comforting, nostalgic gluten free fish recipes—from crispy battered fillets to traditional gefilte fish and classic fish and chips. Perfect for family dinners, holidays, or simple Friday night meals.


Ingredients

For Fish Batter:

1 cup white rice flour

½ cup cornstarch

1 tsp baking powder (gluten free)

1 tsp garlic powder

½ tsp paprika

1 tsp salt

1 cup cold sparkling water

1 lb white fish fillets (cod or haddock)

Oil for frying

For Gefilte Fish:

1 lb ground white fish (carp or cod)

1 lb ground white onion

2 eggs

¼ cup gluten free matzo meal

1 tbsp sugar

1 tsp salt

½ tsp white pepper

2 carrots, sliced

1 onion, sliced

6 cups water

For Fried Fish:

1 lb white fish fillets

2 eggs, beaten

1 cup almond flour or crushed gluten free crackers

1 tsp paprika

1 tsp garlic powder

½ tsp salt

¼ tsp black pepper

Oil for shallow frying

For Fish and Chips:

1 lb cod or haddock

1 cup white rice flour

½ cup cornstarch

1 tsp baking powder

1 tsp salt

1 cup sparkling water

2 large russet potatoes

Salt to taste

Oil for frying


Instructions

1. Mix dry ingredients for batter, then whisk in sparkling water until smooth.

2. Heat oil to 350°F. Dip fish into batter and fry 3–4 mins per side until golden.

3. For gefilte, combine all ingredients. Shape into ovals.

4. Simmer in water with carrots and onions for 1 hour.

5. For fried fish, dredge fillets in egg and almond flour mix.

6. Fry in shallow oil until golden, about 4 mins per side.

7. For chips, soak cut potatoes, fry once at 325°F, rest, then fry again at 375°F.

8. Serve all recipes hot with desired sides and sauces.


Notes

You can substitute almond flour with crushed gluten free crackers for extra crunch.

Always check packaging to ensure ingredients are certified gluten free.

Gefilte fish can be stored refrigerated for up to 3 days.

Serve fish and chips immediately for the best crisp texture.
