Description
This gluten free communion bread recipe includes two versions: one unleavened and one made with oat flour. Pure, simple, and spiritually meaningful.
Ingredients
1 cup gluten-free oat flour or white rice flour
1 tablespoon olive oil
¼ teaspoon salt
⅓ cup warm water
Optional: 1 teaspoon honey
Optional oat version: 1 egg white or flax egg
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 375°F for unleavened or 350°F for oat version.
2. Mix flour and salt in a bowl.
3. Add olive oil and water. Stir until dough forms.
4. For oat version, whisk in egg white and honey.
5. Shape dough into rounds or squares.
6. Place on parchment-lined baking sheet.
7. Bake 10–12 minutes or until set and lightly golden.
8. Cool completely before serving.
Notes
Use certified gluten-free oat flour if needed.
Honey adds sweetness but can be omitted for strict tradition.
Store in an airtight container up to 3 days or freeze.
