This gluten free chicken tenders recipe is crispy on the outside, juicy inside, and made with simple ingredients. Air fryer and oven options included, plus dairy-free tips.
Ingredients
1½ lbs chicken tenders or sliced chicken breasts
1 cup gluten-free breadcrumbs or crushed cornflakes
½ cup unsweetened almond milk (or oat milk)
1 large egg (or flax egg)
½ cup gluten-free flour or cornstarch
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp smoked paprika
½ tsp salt
½ tsp black pepper
Avocado oil or olive oil spray
Instructions
1. Preheat air fryer to 400°F or oven to 425°F. Line tray or basket with parchment or rack.
2. Set up 3 bowls: flour, egg + milk mixture, and spiced breadcrumbs.
3. Dredge each chicken piece in flour, then egg mix, then breadcrumb coating.
4. For air fryer: place in basket, spray with oil, and cook 10–12 minutes, flipping halfway.
5. For oven: place on wire rack over parchment-lined baking sheet, spray with oil, and bake 18–20 minutes, flipping once.
6. Serve warm with dipping sauce or over salad. Garnish with parsley if desired.
Notes
Make it dairy-free by using almond milk or oat milk.
Use crushed gluten-free crackers or cornflakes for extra crunch.
Double the batch and freeze before cooking—reheat in oven or air fryer.
